Brio: verve and vigour - aptly describes the lively flavours and texture of this wine. Made from the Brunello clone of Sangiovese which has its origins in the hill town of Montalcino, Tuscany.

True to its Italian heritage this Sangiovese has spicy aromas, black cherry fruit and savoury firm tannins making it a superb partner for Mediterranean style food.

A lively zesty and fruity wine with tropical fruit flavours. Especially enjoyable with Mediterranean or Asian dishes or enjoyed on the verandah just on its own, lightly chilled.

This lovely wine blends the floral and spice of Gewurztraminer with the lemony zing of Riesling and the subtle pear and musk flavours of Pinot Gris. Delightful on its own, it will also pair with soft ripened cheese or light spicy Asian dishes.

Top Drops

Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris? Strange bed partners perhaps, but they work in Argentius - High-toned, musky gewurztraminer dominates the aroma, suggesting perhaps a touch of sweetness and viscosity to come. Yes, to an extent, but the palate's more complex - citrusy and tangy, velvety and slick. It's off-dry with a savoury grip of tannin from the gewurztraminer and pinot gris. Goes very well with Thai food.

Made from a blend of Cabernet Franc and the Italian variety Sangiovese, the Cabernet Franc provides intensely floral notes of wood violets and roses and the Sangiovese adds a savoury finish to the wine. A lovely wine to enjoy on a summer's day relaxing on the verandah or enjoying a meal al fresco with friends.

The best barrels of Shiraz from the vintage have been selected for this wine. A fragrant bouquet of spice and berry fruit leads onto a richly flavoured palate where fine tannins and soft acidity balance the opulent fruit. "...this wine has greater depth to it's medium-to full-bodied palate, more dark fruit flavours and more structure."

Fully ripe Shiraz grapes were fermented in open fermenters, with plunging of the skins by hand. The wine has been matured for 22 months in French and American oak barriques. "Good colour; the gently perfumed bouquet leads into a medium-bodied palate that opens with black cherry and plum fruit before moving to more spicy/savoury characters on the finish." 93 points, James Halliday, 2011 Wine Companion.
